Back in September (2016) DioWarriors bought a 1:12 scale Howa Type 89 from Little Armory. If you are not familiar with Little Armory, they make model kits of weapons -- pistols, mortars, etc -- for Figma and other Japanese action figures. These are highly detailed model kits and not a "single item" prop. Expect cutting parts off of sprues, sanding and gluing and following instructions in Japanese, and painting all parts yourself.
Specifically compatible to Figma, to hold the weapons, there are several add-on hands available as a separate purchase, including gloved and bare hand versions. The parts for the Howa Type 89 were a tight fit that did not require glue (although I did glue the parts.) The instructions were easy to follow. Typical plastic for models, the kit was easy to sand and paint. Where to find Little Armory? Hobby Link Japan has a nice selection. Just search for "Little Armory" at www.hlj.com. They also have at least one Figma figure that comes with their weapons, and there are also a number of illustration books with the cover art of their boxes. Tycondrius does another MOTU figure review. This time it's Dragstor. Neca Planet of the Apes review by Tycondrius. Shane is back with another awesome Rum Powered Review. Tycondrius is back with another review! This time Mumm-ra and Jackalman from Thundercats. |
