Preparation depends on the color of the item. For the most part, these canisters are intended to be lightly sanded before painting. The exception is the white color Basic Canister which has been post-treated for a special smooth, glossy finish.
Painting:
- White Basic Canister: surface does not need to be prepared for painting, other than making sure it is clean. A simple soup/water rinse is all that is needed. Do not use alcohol on this material.
- Other colors: A simple light sanding to help paint adhere to the plastic is a good idea to do.
